October highlights
1-11th Bucharest Auto Show & Accessories. With a tradition of 22 years, this year’s 13th edition represents, once again, the reference event in Romanian automotive market. The event takes place in Bucharest, at Romaero Baneasa center, showcasing the latest novelties and premieres in auto & accessories industry, an effort quantified by the presence of 102 exhibiting companies.
The special event of this year’s edition features the SAB Air Show – the most spectacular air show of this fall. Supported by the Romanian Aeroclub, the event will include acrobatic air shows with planes, gliders, parachutes & ultralight aircrafts. For more info visit the official website of SAB.
4-5th Pink Martini & China Forbes concert. In 1994, pianist Thomas Lauderdale renounced his political career and founded Pink Martini, convinced that the sound of his small orchestra will have a better chance at expressing his vision of freedom and diversity. Enjoy the beautiful combination of jazz, pop, Latin-American and classical music, live in Bucharest at Sala Palatului. The second concert will take place the next day in Cluj-Napoca, at Sala Polivalenta.
5-11th Lord of The Dance – tour in Romania. Michael Flatley, American step dancer and producer of “Lord of the Dance” show, is the man who holds the Guinness World Record of 35 taps per second. He brought dance and art to a new level, captivating audiences worldwide with his innovative and revolutionary Irish based dance style. A defining example is the record set by his 21 consecutive shows at London’s legendary Wembley Arena, a record that still stands to this day. Today, he returns to Romania with a new show called “Dangerous Games” and will be on tour in 5 cities: Constanta (5th Oct), Bucharest (6th), Brasov (7th), Cluj-Napoca (10th) and Timisoara (11th) .
9-10th Perla Harghitei Rally. The 8th and also second last round of the Romanian Rally Championship is held in Harghita, an area from Transylvania that has high hills and beautiful landscapes. Start your engines folks!
10th BZN concert. With a brilliant career behind them, over 400 songs, millions of album copies sold, Jan and Anny from BZN return to Bucharest for what will be their final show here.
12-13th Joe Satriani concert. The legendary guitarist included Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca for “The Shockwave tour”. The first concert will be held in Bucharest at Sala Polivalenta (12th Oct) followed by Cluj-Napoca the next day.
14th Morrisey concert. Live at Sala Palatului, Bucharest.
15th U2 – Tribute concert. The “Zen Garden” in concert with a tribute to “U2” at Hard Rock Café, Bucharest.
17th John Abercrombie concert. Listen to the jazz fusion, post bop and avant-garde jazz played by the American guitarist at Sala Radio, Bucharest.
17th Xzibit Concert. The show takes place at Club One, Bucharest.
22-25th Sibiu International Jazz Festival. Jazz music emerged just over a century ago and there are few jazz festivals in the world that can pride themselves for having a history longer than 4 decades. This year, the Sibiu International Jazz Festival celebrates 45 years of existence and defines itself as the most solid Romanian brand among jazz festivals.
The current edition will display the groove rhythms of the Swiss trio “Jazz Talks”, the profound sound of Italian contrabassist Niccolo Faraci and his quartet, the flamenco composer & pianist Dorantes and many more.
The main attraction of the festival comes from Cuba with a fantastic combination between jazz and Latin-American rhythms. The “Soneros de Verdad” band plays a mix of Cuban son, danzon & jazz and represents the renaissance of traditional Cuban music, following in the footsteps of the legendary band of Buena Vista Social Club. Lead singer Luis Frank and his fellow Cuban musicians are considered to be the world’s finest interprets for this type of music. If you love Jazz and Cuban music, you can’t miss their show!

23rd Emil Kusturica & The No Smoking Orchestra. If you enjoyed the movie “Black cat, white cat” and like Balkan Music, don’t miss out the concert held at “Beraria H”, the largest beer house in Eastern Europe that’s able to welcome 3000 guests.
23rd Pendulum. Drum & base concert at Arenele Romane, Bucharest.
25th Romania’s Armed Forces Day. The day when Romanians celebrate the liberation of Transylvania from the control of the Axis powers, in WW2. You can see military parades in all major cities, with troops dressed up in ceremonial uniforms, marching and singing on fix routes along the main boulevards.
27th Dulce Pontes. The queen of fado music returns to Romania with a concert at Sala Palatului, Bucharest.
